Harrell Hicks Hodgkin's Lymphoma - Stage 4

Tax deductible

Harrell Hicks, an Arlington ISD, Lamar High School graduate, and Dallas Fire Fighter needs our help. NOW, MORE THAN EVER, HE NEEDS OUR HELP AS HE LITERALLY FIGHTS FOR HIS LIFE.

Almost three (3) years ago, we told you about how Harrell has dealt with Hodgkins Lymphoma since his days as a student-athlete at Lamar High School. After years of various treatments, the cancer is still with him. Here is the latest update and need for Harrell.

In 2019 Harrell Hicks was awarded the “Everyday Hero Award” by the Arlington Athletic Hall of Honor Foundation. This award is defined as:

“There are heroes among us who do extraordinary things every day, out of the kindness of their hearts with a passion for making a difference for the better. First responders, educators, and nurses are just some grassroots examples of people who have dedicated their lives to leaving their patch of green grass better than they found it.”

Harrell is not now 34 years old, and his cancer has now progressed to Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It has spread to almost all parts of his body. He has undergone assorted chemo regimens; a stem cell transplant, and to date, nothing has stopped the spread. He was recently accepted into a trial at MD Anderson known as afm13 that has shown some success against his particular type of cancer. He started chemo treatments in Houston about two weeks ago and will begin a series of infusion treatments on an outpatient basis on 9/1. He must remain in Houston on an outpatient basis during the treatments in case he needs to be hospitalized. If he can tolerate the treatments, they will continue for the next four (4)months. Harrell works for the Dallas Fire Department, so he has health insurance, but it does not cover his housing, transportation, food, and other living-related costs while in Houston and commuting back and forth to Dallas.

As evidenced by his volunteer work as a coach, and first responder job, along with his always positive personality throughout his life, Harrell is a GIVER. Now is the time for us to give back to Harrell to help this incredible young man.

Please pray that this leading-edge treatment will be the answer to prayer and that his cancer will be eradicated after all these years! Thank you Arlington Athletics Hall of Honor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization

The Arlington Athletics Hall of Honor Foundation is a 501(c)(3), and all donations may be tax-deductible. All donations dollars, minus any gofundme.com fees, will go directly to Harrell to pay his medical and living expenses while he is getting treatment for this horrible cancer.
