Harnham Parish Hall Transformation Project

Built 60 years ago, Harnham Parish Hall  in Salisbury (the parish where my wife, The Revd Becky Roberts is Vicar) is in need of modernising to include full accessibility throughout so that it can continue to provide a community resource for local people.  The Parish are hoping to create more flexible meeting spaces, a new fully equipped kitchen, a modern Parish office and make it an environmentally friendly building.   The total cost of the refurbishment is likely to be in the region of £200,000.
 
Part of the transformation project involves relocating the kitchen from its current location to what is now the store room so that it can serve both the hall and the adjacent meeting room and to make way for a more modern suite of accessible WC's and to create a kitchen that meets modern catering standards.  This will allow the parish and other hall users to offer improved hospitality.  This aspect of the project is likely to cost approximately £16,500.

As part of the fundraising efforts for this project, I am walking from Canterbury Cathedral to Salisbury Cathedral - a total of 165 miles - over seven days beginning on Palm Sunday (14 April) and finishing on Saturday 20 April in time for Easter.  My aim is to raise £100 for each mile which, coincidentally, should be enough to relocate and fully equip the new kitchen.

At an average of 23 miles walking a day, it's going to be a challenge but one which I am very much looking forward to.  And I will be extremely grateful for any financial contributions you are able to make to help bring this very valuable and important project for our community to life.
