Help Hannah compete in Abu Dhabi

Donation protected
In October 2016, Hannah's medal winning performance at the 2016 WorldSkills Australia National Competition earned her a place on the Worldskills Australia Skills Squad  team.

Hannah, along with 23 of Australia’s current National Champions from their particular trade or skill, is now competing for a chance to represent Australia at the world’s largest vocational skills competition – the WorldSkills International Competition, which will take place in Abu Dhabi in October 2017.

If Hannah is successful she will become one of the elite young men and women who will join the *2017 Skillaroos team and have the opportunity to showcase, on the world’s stage, that Australia produces some of the best apprentices and skilled workers in the world**.

Often referred to as the Olympic Games for Skills and Trades, the WorldSkills International Competition will see the world’s best trade young men and women, from 76 nations, compete in 50 different categories for the title of World Champion.

To help Hannah secure her place on the 2017 Skillaroos team, she must first undergo an intensive training program and along with her mentors, category experts and a team of dedicated volunteers Hannah will train and develop her skills, her decision making abilities and build the resilience needed to compete against the world’s best.

With your help we can provide Hannah with the best possible opportunity to gain a spot in the *2017 Skillaroos team and represent WorldSkills Australia at the International Competition in Abu Dhabi in October 2017.

ABOUT HANNAH:
Hanna fell in love with manufacturing jewellery in high school, captivated by the process of creating bespoke pieces by hand.

Her determination to pursue a career in jewellery lead her to part-time employment where she began to hone her craft. She dedicated her time – in and out of work – to training and improving her skills – nothing would get in her way.

“After months of applying to workshops in Australia and around the world, I won a coveted apprenticeship with Jewels of the Kimberley in Broome,” she said.

Encouraged by some incredible mentors who have been a part of WorldSkills, Hannah entered the competition to challenge herself and gain training and experience that money couldn’t buy. WorldSkills has given her the determination and focus to work efficiently and purposely on her craft, as well as the communication skills to better her relationships with colleagues, trainers, clients and family.

Hannah is being supported on her WorldSkills journey by Pallion.

*The 2017 Skillaroos team will be announced in July 2017.

** Australia is currently ranked 12th in the world and in 2017 we aspire to break into the top 10.
