Help Save Hannah

Hello Family and Friends. We are reaching out to you in behalf of our sister, Hannah Enriquez. She is currently fighting a rare and aggressive cancer that no one, including herself, could have foreseen.

In early July 2018, she started experiencing pain in her cervical area, as well as vaginal bleeding and severe pain in her abdominal area. This caused her to miss several days at work, until eventually she did not meet her attendance metrics and lost her job. She checked in at an ER but was only prescribed even more pain medication. For several weeks, she just took these. Her vaginal bleeding got so bad, that she had to wear diapers and changed them 3-4 times daily.

In early September 2018, she sought medical help with an OB-GYN. A transvaginal ultrasound showed a vaginal mass (initial impression was prolapsed myoma), and was advised to seek further medical help from specialists. She was eventually hospitalized.

At the time of her hospital admission, she already had high grade fever and was almost in septic shock. The doctors treated her infection, and performed an emergency operation to remove the prolapsed mass in her uterus. She was eventually transferred to another hospital due to the rising costs of her medical bills.

A biopsy on the mass removed from her uterus revealed that she has High Grade Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (Stage 3B cancer). It has spread in her uterus, cervix, rectum, and other glands in the area. Surgery is no longer an option, and her best hope is chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Her doctors have already advised that this will be a long battle, one which will cost so much in medical and hospitalization expenses.

Hannah also had several complications. The mass removed from her uterus was the size of the head of a newborn baby, 20% of which was already in necrotic state. This may have led to the infection that entered her bloodstream, to which she is being given heavy doses of antibiotics. Her kidneys are also not functioning well, and she is having to undergo dialysis 3x a week. Her blood hemoglobin is also below normal, hence the need for blood transfusion.

The latest and most critical medical complication she has is the development of blood clots on both legs, called Deep Vein Thrombosis. She experienced severe chest pains and shortness of breath, so the doctors recommended that she be transferred to an ICU immediately. DVT can cause failure in heart, lungs, or brain, so she is being closely monitored.

As of this writing, we are battling with her medical complications, and her medical bill has already reached amounts that we are unable to realistically cope with. We haven’t even reached the point where she has to undergo chemotherapy and radiation therapy. We are appealing to your good hearts for any amount you can extend to Hannah so we can help her overcome this debilitating disease. You may donate on this page, share it with family, friends, and colleagues so we can Help Hannah.

Lastly, we thank you in advance for your love and kindness. Please keep Hannah in your prayers, and give your loved ones a tight hug.
