Hannah's Fundraising Page

Every year at Christmas we do a fundraiser. This year's is extra special as we decided to support one of our own employees. Reni Pekala has been with Accenture for over 10 years. She has 3 daughters and lives with her family in Co Wicklow.

Her youngest daughter, Hannah is 7 and has a physical disability, she was born with a very rare orthopaedic condition. We have been aware of Reni’s quest to organise surgery for her in the US that is not available in Ireland or anywhere else in Europe, to improve Hannah’s quality of life, reduce her pain and increase her mobility.

The good news is that their health insurance agreed to cover the surgery in the US, at a specialized centre and the surgery will be early December. The bad news is that they just found out, that it won't cover the months of extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation that Hannah will need to do in the States following the surgery. This is a significant amount, in addition to the loss of income as Reni takes leave to look after her daughter, along with the travel and living expenses. All donations will directly go towards Hannah’s physical therapy cost.
