Welcome to my fundraising page!
This page is to help me fundraise for Yale Men's Rugby tour to Hong Kong and Japan in March of 2018. This is a two-week-long tour where we will train alongside international teams, participate in events leading up to the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan, and build relationships with rugby clubs across Asia. Although we have received a number of generous donations from alumni, we are tasked with raising over $30,000 in order to fund the trip's expenses and sponsor students who may not otherwise be able to afford to go.
Yale Rugby has made me a better man. Yale Rugby has made me learn to think creatively. Yale Rugby has made me more resilient. Yale Rugby has made me a hooker (note: the position, not a gigolo). If I'm able to make my glorious return to Japan once again, it'll be a whole different story. I'll be making my family proud on the rugby pitch instead of bringing great shame upon them in Tokyo hotel lobbies a la summer 2011!
My goal is to raise $500. One of the guys on the team managed to scrape together that much moonlighting as a magician, but since I'm completely devoid of any discernable talents of my own I offer this instead: If I hit my goal of $500 by the end of today (October 26th), I will, in the spirit of our destination, eat an entire tube of wasabi to be recorded for your viewing pleasure.
If you would be willing to donate, it would mean the world to myself, my teammates, and the many coaches who put countless hours into developing this team; additionally, you will receive updates from the tour, including videos of our day-to-day training and daily recaps of our adventures from the tour scribe. Even if you could care less about the sport of rugby, if you would like to see me burn holes through my sinuses, then please consider donating.
