Dear friends and family. On Saturday evening my beautiful wife passed peacefully in my arms. Her hope, optimism and strength through this ordeal was nothing short of amazing. Her love for life, of people and life’s experiences made me a better man. I always considered Susi a dreamer. But in reality, I now know she was just planning her life. She showed me the world as she loved to travel. There is no one I know who more portrayed the “Live, Love and Laugh” mantra. Our mutual love for the sea brought us together, and there she will return. I am making final arrangements for her now and will travel to Little Cayman and Nicaragua to carry out her final wishes.
She and I had hoped to thank each and every one of you, and through your generosity, she found the strength to fight this battle. I would also like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff that cared for her during these four long months. Heidi, you were her earthbound angel. Many thanks also to those that could visit and lift her spirit.. Every card written to her was read by her.
Thank You once again for your support. I traveled every day to Homestead (50 minutes away) and to South Miami three days a week (120 minutes away) for the four months she was in the hospital. The storm didn't help matters either. I am truly thankful and forever in your debt for helping me thru this financial crisis. This sudden reversal of her health has floored me and the doctors who always commented on her strength and will. I simply had not planned on Susi and I ever getting to this point.
When the time is right, I will have a “Celebration of Life” for all. I have a feeling this may be important for me to do as I had no idea how many very close friends she had. I may need some help on this one if you are local and can help. So again, if you can help with these costs, Susi and I are extremely grateful. Susi’s fondness for animals was also a huge love in her life. I will make a donation in her name to a local veterinarian who routinely passes on payment for services if one cannot afford it.
This has left a huge hole in my heart and I am gutted, but I thank you all for your cards and email support. It DID make a world of difference for her during her fight for life.
I truly hope she touched your life in the same way she touched mine. I hope you all have found your soulmate in life, I was fortunate to have found mine. Thank You for helping me take care of my financial crisis and hopefully soon i can back to work.
