Truck Repair/Handicap Conversion

Please help us make Bruce’s truck handicap equipped. It needs customized driving controls and repairs to make it handicap accessible for a one-legged man.
On January 28th, 2016 Bruce underwent a right leg amputation. He had already had some physical limitations from previous ongoing health issues before enduring this unexpected amputation. Since the amputation there has been complications with his wound healing correctly. This has led to two different skin grafts to help heal the wound. However, both attempted skin grafts have failed leaving a large open unhealed wound. Originally Bruce would have been fitted for a prosthetic less than three months after surgery. As you can see, plans have changed under conditions we are unable to control. This has set us back nine months as doctors are still trying to figure out a good approach to healing such a large wound.

For the last 9 months, Bruce has been housebound. “Sweetpea” his truck, with handicap modifications would allow him to get out of the house with his wheelchair/scooter independently to make important doctors’ appointments multiple times a week on his own, as friends and family aren’t available during the day every day.

Being housebound Bruce can no longer get out to instruct classes to bring in the extra funds that would normally go towards covering these surprise expenses. This has caused an ongoing financial struggle within the household. He is going star crazy stuck in the house all day alone every day. He needs to get out independently for his own well-being.
