Handicap Accessible Van - Nathaniel

Donation protected
For those of you who do not know Nathaniel’s story, he was born at 25 weeks, 5 days. He weighed 2lbs. 0.6oz, which was a good size for being so early. He spent the first months of his life in the NICU at DeKalb Medical hooked up to machine after machine. Talk about being scared, I would dread everytime a call would come from the hospital...all the tests, hospital jargon was just a blur, we just wanted to know how he was! He was finally able to come home in February 1999 (he was born November 6th) with the assistance of oxygen, pulse ox monitor and heart monitor.

Due to being very premature he was diagnosed with Spastic Cerebral Palsy around a year and a half. His left arm/hand and both of his legs are affected. Early on he was able to walk short distances with the help of a walker but since he has gotten older his tendons and muscles have tightened up to where he can only scoot or get around in his wheelchair. As you can imagine it has become almost impossible to transport him due to his size, weight and electric chair! Even Jason struggles with lifting him! This van would be a life saver! Imagine all the sunglasses and milkshake trips we could go on! The ease of getting him to and from places, he could just hop in his chair and we could go!

Thank you again for all of your generosity!
