Help Kayla Cover Chemo

Donation protected
Meet my beautiful and courageous Daughter-in-Law Kayla Daley. And, my equally beautiful granddaughter, Josephine Mae...we call her Josie.  Here is their story and an explanation of why I've decided to create this Go Fund Me campaign.

In mid-June, at just 30 weeks pregnant, Kayla was diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer. After many tears, some angry words, lots of prayers and very sound medical advice it was determined the best course of treatment, for both Kayla and the baby, was to begin a milder course of chemo and to allow the baby to continue to grow and develop. Over the next 8 weeks, Kayla was able to receive two chemotherapy treatments and Josie was able to get to a stage in her development that would allow for a normal, low-risk, delivery.

Josie met her mom and dad, and a number of her grandparents, on August 10, 2018. Three short weeks later, with a newborn at home, Kayla began the greatest battle of her life...fighting Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC). On Thursday, November 1st, she received her 4th, out of 5, chemo treatments...and is scheduled for surgery mid-December. This, by no means however, is the end...but just the first step in a year-long journey!

Once Kayla has completed chemo and the subsequent surgery she will begin a six week round of radiation therapy. Simultaneously, she will be receiving a Herceptin infusion, every three weeks, for a full year. I am so very proud of the way Kayla is facing this battle with both courage and grace!

This leads me to the WHY for this GFM campaign. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for Kayla, Chris and Josie, from their friends and family...including their extended church and studio families! I've decided to afford all those who know and love this family an opportunity to support them in one more way...financially. The out-of-pocket expenses, for the chemo treatments alone, will be in excess of $5,000. Please, search your hearts, your mad-money coffee cans, consider sharing some of your Christmas bonuses...whatever you can do. Remember, this $5,000 is just a drop in the bucket of what the total needs will be...but, we needed to start somewhere.

Thank you, in advance, for your consideration and just know that there is no gift too small...even a few dollars, from a number of folks...WILL make a huge difference and truly help with the recovery process as this family fights the greatest battle of their life.

God Bless, and thank you!
