Opportunity: ‘Hair Aid’ Donation
Hair Aid is the rebranding of the Kuya Collaborative project 2011-2104.  Previously run under the Enactus Australia banner, the project has quickly grown which has facilitated a rebranding to reflect the Australian hairdressing industry sponsorship support.

Hair Aid raises funds to take hairdressers to the slum communities in Quezon City Manila to train street families in hair cutting. Previous support from industry sponsors (Excellent Edges scissors, Aussie Hair Guru, Wahl, Ezy Dry, Orb distribution, Australian Hairdressing Council, Scissor Empire, Zen scissors, Norris hair supplies, Sharon Blain and more) have provided resources to enable the participants to immediately begin cutting hair and earn money to buy food and water for themselves and their families.
Each year hairdressers offer their time and support to run a one week training program. This is now insufficient as there is over 300,000 families in the community where Hair Aid provides the training, and the vision of Hair Aid is to increase this program to a minimum of two trips in 2105, and four – six trips in 2016.In addition to this Hair Aid has a vision to establish a hair dressing training centre in partnership with local communities who support the shared vision of providing training in livelihood training for street families.  This will also incorporate funding the wages of one or two local hairdressers who will manage the training centre in between Hair Aid visits.

Hair Aid has much work to do. And we need help. In January 2015 a team of 17 will again facilitate hair cutting training in Quezon City.

With the help of our sponsors and community members we have raised enough funds for our January 2015 trip.

We now seek help to raise funds to provide transport, one daily meal and child minding for all our 200 expected particpants. We need $10 per participant which  will give them a meal each day during training, provide transport to get them to training, and fund child minding, so their children are not unsupervised while their parents are training.

If you are able, please help us help others.
