Support for Annie's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Last week, at 26 years old, Annie Bond was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Annie brings laughter, love and support to so many of our lives. I call upon you all to reciprocate this in her time of need.

This is going to be the greatest challenge of her life, but I have full faith that she is going to overcome this and later down the road she'll write a standup about the experience. (She's going to be super famous one day, in case any of you didn't already know.)

She is still going through testing and I will post updates here once we know more information. Her mom is already out there and will be as long as necessary. I ask that you contact Louie Bond or myself via Facebook message if have questions or want to send her anything.

Thank god that California offers health insurance to servers, but that doesn't nearly cover all of the expenses she and her family will incur. Due to the fact that waitressing requires physical strength/health she will not be able work while undergoing chemotherapy.

Battling cancer is a long and VERY expensive journey. Please donate what you can and send all your love, prayers and positive energy. Every contribution, large or small will make a difference.

Thank you all for your love and support!

XO,
Emily

UPDATE FROM LOUIE
It's been a long and winding road to staging, one that unfortunately found us at Stage 4 due to a pesky liver tumor. This week, the tumor board at Cedars-Sinai discussed her case; next week, her case will be presented to the City of Hope tumor board. We have consulted many fine doctors along the way and will find out her course of treatment in the next week or so. They all think she is wonderful, and apparently she's got a very unusual case. That means she is getting lots of good attention. Annie has begun the process of harvesting and freezing eggs. Since her cancer is fed by estrogen, it's hard to say what lies ahead, so this a prudent course of action. It's also an expensive one. She has spent around $8,000 out of pocket on that process, and we will begin an appeal to Blue Shield to try to recoup at least some of that. We are applying for all the programs we can, now that she is staged and will begin treatment. She has found a wonderful support group nearby at We Spark. I honestly don't know where we'd be without the kindness, generosity, prayers and donations from our friends and family. I'm not sure how we'll ever thank you all, but please know how happy it makes us to see all your names here and to get those sweet little care packages and notes. Annie is brave and strong beyond my wildest expectations and I have absolutely no doubt that she will get past this hurdle and live a long and healthy life! We love you all! xoxoxo
