David Carter Memorial Fund

It is with the heaviest heart that I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister-in-law, Lynn Carter.

Late Monday evening on January 28, their daughter Kristin was visiting.  They were in the living room with Dave, laughing and joking as usual.  Lynn and Kristin went in to the bedroom so Lynn could show her a project she was creating.  In less than 15 minutes they returned and Dave was in the exact same position but wasn't moving.  To Kristin's credit she immediately began CPR  to no avail.  He was already with the Lord  Jesus Christ.

He wasn't diagnosed or knowingly fighting a disease - he passed at the young age of 61 without warning.  As tragic, shocking and confusing as the situation is,  Lynn, Kristin and their oldest daughter Jessica  are extremely thankful (as we all are) that he did not suffer. 

Dave and Lynn were husband and wife, soulmates and best friends.  February 14th, Valentine's Day would've been their 35th wedding anniversary.

Both Dave and Lynn were on Social Security Disability.  Dave struggled with severe anxiety and bouts of depression.  He enjoyed his part time job with Home Goods in Westerly.  Lynn has battled Crohn's Disease since she was a young girl.  Jobs typically lasted 2 months until the pain and flare-ups made it impossible to work.  Her employers were sympathetic but simply couldn't afford to hold a job for two months or more waiting for her to feel better.  

Their combined monthly income was $2,200 while rent is close to $900. There isn't any savings, retirement or life insurance.

This page is intended to be used as a message board.  You can write notes to the family to read and also a way to give financially.  No donation is too small - every little bit helps.

Dave will be buried at the Veteran's Cemetery in Exeter, RI. (please check back - I will post details when available)
