Team Braxton

My 3 year old grandson Braxton Mitchell has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor in the right side of his brain.This has completely caught all the family totally off guard, because Braxton has always been such an active and happy little boy, otherwise normal in every way. He fell a few weeks back and was taken to the ER, to have a CT scan due to a knot that had popped up. Everything checked out fine from the fall but then the Dr. told his parents that something has shown up on the opposite side of where he had bumped his head, totally unrelated to the fall. They sent him the next day to Mission Children’s Hosiptal for a MRI that he was put under anesthesia for. That MRI confirmed his parents worst nightmare, yes indeed he had something in his brain. The Drs there told his mom and dad that Braxton needed to go to Charlotte, Levine Childrens Hosiptal. They told them to wait by the phone the next day for the dr to call from Charlotte. When he called he told his parents that because he had nothing to compare this to, he felt that we should wait 4 weeks to have the MRI redone in Charlotte. The appointment was scheduled for the 26th. After the MRI and visit with the neurosurgeon there, they diagnosed him with a grade 1 brain tumor in his brain. Braxton will be under going brain surgery on August 21st but will be admitted on the 20th to have yet another MRI done. This will be more in depth to show the drs the exact location and depth of his tumor. The doctors do feel certain that they will be able to remove the entire tumor. Dakota and Josh will be faced with many medical expenses, as well as being out of work for a bit to ensure they are with their son every step of the way. I would like to relieve some of the stress that they are facing during this time by doing this go fund me for them.
