Help Chris Beat Cancer!

It was our son, Chris Andrews' 45th birthday on April 25 and one year since he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.  It has been a very difficult year for Chris, his wife Amy, and daughter Haley.  They struggled with cancer, it's life and death implications, surgery that removed 18 inches of his colon and part of his stomach lining, 6 months of very strong chemotherapy, the development of neuropathy in his hands and feet, and other side effects of chemotherapy.  Unfortunately he has been unable to return to work, resulting in reduced income and ever mounting medical bills.

They have not been on this journey alone as they have had strong support from family and friends.  As evidenced at Chris' Surprise Birthday Party on Sunday, April 22nd at Meadow Vista Park where more than 80 people came to celebrate Chris' Birthday and his cancer being in remission.  Chris was truly surprised, thankful, and overwhelmed that so many family and friends were able to attend.

But the fight against cancer is not over.  Stage 4 means that the cancer had already spread to other organs.  Chris has drastically changed his lifestyle.  He maintains a very strict cancer fighting diet, walks at least 7 miles every day, attends classes on health, nutrition, and mindfulness, which all helps him continue with his physical and mental therapy.  His attitude since his diagnosis has been nothing but positive and we need to keep it that way.

We have decided to set up this GoFundMe Account to send Chris and Amy on a much needed and well deserved all expenses paid vacation/trip of their choice.  The goal is to raise $10,000 by October 1st for the vacation with any money left over to be spent on medical bills.
