Homes for Displaced Families
It is undeniable...we have a housing crisis on the Sunshine Coast. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and yet there is a negative impact in our community that is affecting so many families. We are looking to remedy some of that.
Yes....we know the million dollar goal is a big one! We are believers in the impossible!
I have been accepted into the LEAP Program sponsored by Community Futures and SFU. I am actively working on a business plan to include all of the costs associated with a project of this size:
The concept is a small housed community, that will include up to 35 homes. These home will be offered to local members of the community who have been searching for a home.
A community garden, solar powered units and a self sustaining community mindset is the longer term goal.
I am also working alongside many of the authorities who have expressed an interest in this project and want to see it succeed. To name a few, I have been meetingwith BC Housing VP of operations, Pamela Goldsmith-Jones is a supporter and the helpful people at the SCRD are assuring the process is going in the correct direction.

It is a very big undertaking we know, and we are looking towards the community and beyond for support. If we all pool together we can accomplish the impossible and encourage each other to the finish line :) If everyone were to donate a little will amount to much and "many hands make light work".
*Please note: initial funds will be used for planning and development, and any applicable costs involved with application and if needed the fees for the rezoning, down payment of property and any other unforseen expenses. We will be sure to have full disclosure of where the funds are going.
