Gwen Thompson's Fundraiser
Dear Friends & Family, We are asking for your help. Our Wife/Sister/Mom/Friend/Aunt/Cousin and so much more is in need for the first time in her life. Gwen Thompson was recently diagnosed with Metastatic Cholangiocarcinoma, also known as Bile Duct Cancer which is very rare. This has been a devastating blow to Gwen, her husband Doug, her family and all of us who love her dearly. Gwen has been the Rock of her family and friends forever. Gwen will always greet you with kind words, a warm hug and her beautiful smile. She has helped countless people over the years. She is always the first to help, donate and give whatever it takes to someone in need.
Gwen started feeling a lump in her stomach before Christmas but didn’t have any pain so she never said anything to anyone about it. On Valentine’s Day, Doug took Gwen to the emergency room because she had been extremely fatigued for weeks, losing a lot of weight and started acting disoriented. At first Gwen’s medical staff didn’t think this was serious, but after a few days in the hospital and extensive tests, Gwen was advised she has Stage 4, Inoperable Liver Cancer. Sadly Doug & Gwen have been having nothing but trouble with their insurance provider causing this very upsetting time to be even more stressful. On top of that, Gwen has been a self employed beautician her entire life. This diagnosis has forced Gwen into immediate retirement and left her with zero income.
Doug & Gwen have spent their entire lives helping and doing for others. They have raised an unbelievable amount of money for friends and family in need over the years. They have opened their home to homeless people and helped those folks get back on their feet. Doug & Gwen are two of the sweetest, most thoughtful and helpful people you will ever meet. If you know them, I guarantee, they have bought you a drink or made you dinner or done something generous in your presence. Doug & Gwen are not comfortable asking for charity because they have always been on the giving side. So their family and friends are asking on their behalf and we have explained to them that this is time for good karma to come their way.
