Hello my name is Roberto Carlos Escobar Mejia, I am Honduran, I am 21 years old, I come from a family of 6 siblings, my older brother died in 2009 as he was ran over by a drunk driver, my father fought against crime and was assassinated in 2011, by a delinquent gang, so today I only have my mother and 4 siblings.

I was a student of Engineering at the university and on May 21, 2017 I started with a fever with a lot of throat swelling, quickly visited a clinic, my first diagnosis was that I had dengue I stayed internal all that day since my platelets were low, I was treated for dengue and went home to rest after a week back to my normal life, I was feeling tired and very sleepy and the fever returned. I went back to the clinic and they told me the suspicion of my diagnostic I traveled to Tegucigalpa to have some studies done and on June 10, 2017 I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia since that day my family and I started to investigate this disease and seek treatment options, in my country it’s difficult I would have to wait in hospital emergency up to 3 days before they would admit me, which was difficult, we made the decision to find a way to get help to the United States, I applied for a visa which was granted and travel to the University of Miami on August 30, 2017 had an appointment on September 5 for a check-up and see options for my treatment,
but I had to enter the hospital on August 31 because my condition was agonizing I was admitted to the University hospital in Miami I was hospitalized for a month with treatment, then I was transferred to the Jackson Memorial in Miami, where I received my first treatment against leukemia I was in treatment for a year then I traveled to my country to resolve details with my status, I reapplied for a Visa and was denied, I had to make a difficult decision since my house had been assaulted and  bandits  were extorting my mother. My brothers denounced and some of the bandits who were extorting my mother were captured, the boss from the bandits threatens us with death because we went to file a complaint and seeing that the disease had returned my younger brother and I took a trip to the United States border and we turned ourselves in, we were detained. I was transferred to a clinic in Texas because I arrived almost dying. I was there a month with treatment but after performing a biopsy the doctor informed me that I needed more aggressive chemotherapy, since the disease had become stronger and that the chemo had not caused effects in the disease, I traveled to Indianapolis I went to a hospital  for a day  and the doctor informed me I had no life expectancy, I did not lose hope and I travel to New York to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell medical center  to seek a second opinion, I am in a difficult situation where I have acquired many economic commitments since the resources my family has have exhausted themselves since I can not work, I ask you for financial help to continue fighting for my life, I am applying to see if they can do bone marrow transplant said process is very expensive but I know that God will provide. Thank you.
