Aldo and Mirel's life has changed drastically in the last year. They found out in late April of 2018 that their father Fernando was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the stomach. Not long after that their mother was taken into custody by ICE. The family couldn't afford hiring a lawyer therefor their mother was deported immediately without being able to say goodbye one last time.
After Mireya was deported back to Mexico and their father Fernando diagnosed with cancer they haven't been able to live a normal childhood. May 17th 2019 their life changed even more with their father passing away from his cancer. No children should have to face life by themselves at only 15 and 12 years old.
Through this traumatic year both Aldo and Mirel have continued to excel in their academics. We want to continue to support Aldo and Mirel through these adversities so they can keep their academic responsibilities in tact. We need to support them so they can continue to be successful in their studies.
Our church has been helping with with rent, food, clothing and anything else a child needs. The church community is a really small community so we are asking for monetary help of any form along with prayers for these kids as they are staying with their older sister and need any help they can get!
