Headstone for Summer Anderson

Donation protected
During the early morning hours of August 19th, 2017, Summer Anderson started out on her route as a carrier for Sauk Valley Media. Not more than just a few minutes into route she was hit nearly head-on by a drunk driver. A few days later, August 22, 2017, Summer died from the injuries she suffered. Summer had just turned 40 years old two days earlier.

Summer left behind her parents, her sister, her niece and nephew, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Her parents are private people but I’ll share that this has left them devastated emotionally, physically, and financially. Being single, an independent contractor, etc. Summer did not have any insurance to speak of, all funds that have existed have gone toward funeral and medical expenses. As of yet, there is no headstone on Summer’s grave.

My niece, Jacquelyn Faulkner, has been saving money from her income to buy a headstone and hope to have it placed on Summer’s grave on Summer’s birthday, which will be August 17. I’m prepared to cover the balance but many friends and family members have expressed an interest in helping. Therefore I decided to start this fundraiser.

Everyone has heard the phrase “It’s better to give than to receive.” No better phrase or quote fits Summer better than this one. She would always rather give than receive but just this one time, I think it’s ok for Summer to receive.
