Gunning for Gunner

Donation protected
With disbelief and an extremely saddened heart, I write this...

It is not our style to ask for monetary hand outs, typically, but we need your help. Our dear boy Gunner, our fur baby, was diagnosed with liver failure. At this point we aren’t sure how long we have left with him but we are doing our very best to stay hopeful. Currently we are waiting on more results, which  we should receive this Wednesday. From there he is due to have an invasive “true cut” liver biopsy.

At this time we have spent about $2500 in the last month but mostly in the last week. This covered different vet bills and medications, test procedures, biopsy, ultra sound etc. We realize that it’s a tight budget month for everyone with Christmas being right around the corner but we have just gone through a difficult November as well. In November, my horse Lady was diagnosed with pneumonia and is still undergoing treatment for the repercussions of that. Lady had a 50% chance of survival and today I can say that she is almost 100% back to herself. We hope and pray Gunner will be as blessed.

If you have had the pleasure of meeting Gunner, you would know that he is the best boy. He is a lover and brings so much joy, comfort and energy into everyone’s life. He deserves to live longer than he has already.

For those of you who have not met Gunner and for those of you who do not know what Gunner means to me, Natalie, I can say that he has filled a void in my life that I wasn’t sure how to take back.  I have always been a dog lover and five years ago I was almost killed by someone’s dog. Without going into detail, the mauling I endured flipped my entire existence upside down. I wanted to love dogs again. I wanted to feel loved by dogs again. I wanted to forgive. I wanted to feel safe being around dogs again. I wanted to heal. Gunner has shown me how to do all of those things and so much more. He is a huge component of the person I am today. He is everything to me.

He is everything to us.

Matt was welcomed into the family immediately by Gunner and somehow he knew we would all be together for the rest of our lives, maybe, before either of us knew it.

Thank you for every donation given. Every dollar will help us continue to pay for the upcoming medical bills and the past ones. If you can not offer monetary support at this time we ask you to say a prayer for Gunner and send all your positive thoughts his direction.

Let the healing begin.
