Guiness World Record 24hr Paddle

Donation protected

My name is Robert Norman, and on February 10th-11th 2017 I plan to take the men's Guiness World Record for stand up paddleboards "longest distance travelled in 24 hours on flatwater." The current standard to beat is 160 kilometers or 99.8 miles... and I plan on around 193 kilometers or 120 miles. The primary reason for this endeavor is completely personal. I want to push myself to my absolute physical and mental limit to set a new standard.. and I hope it will inspire someone to pursue breaking the record in the future. The reason for the fundraising is for to cover expenses of the park I am renting out. Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota is probably the most optimal facility for an event like this. It's contained, safe and fair flatwater. Doing it on a random lake could prove fatal if the necessary precautions aren't taken; this facility takes much of that worry out of the equation.  I've made this purely due to popular demand, many people that are supporting the event can't make it to help volunteer on the support crew, and want to show more than moral support. Every dollar helps make this event possible for me and takes a little stress in preparations off my shoulders. If there is an excess of funds raised I'll open an account and all additional proceeds will go to St Jude Children's Hospital. Thank you so much for reading this and considering helping out in this event!
