First let us say, thank you so much for your support and encouragement. Sun Prairie has shown it's heart through this tragedy. I have set up this go fund me for my good friends Gustavo, Guimo & Alejandro who I worked with for many many years. This is their story...
Our restaurant was directly behind the two buildings that were leveled in the gas explosion on July 10 in Sun Prairie. While we were lucky and did not sustain too much physical damage, the proximity of our location to the explosion has kept us in the danger zone and we are unable to open until we are cleared. We do not know how long that will be.
Guimo's is only 7 months old. We are a very young business to sustain such a crisis and we are worried. Guimo's is the sole support for the 3 families that own and operate it. This is truly a family business. We planned and saved while working in other Sun Prairie restaurants and businesses waiting for our opportunity. When Guimo's opened it was our dream come true. We do have insurance but as we have learned, it will be slow coming and not cover most of our lost wages as operators. Any funds raised in this campaign will be used to support our families.
It's hard for us to ask for help. We are hard working bootstrap kind of people but, some times you have to know when to let someone lend a hand. When we get back up and running, we will do our best to give back to our community in all the ways we can.
