Our son jax was admitted to the hospital a couple weeks ago due to refusing to eat and having blocked kidneys which causes urine to go back up into the kidneys and cause a infection. He was admitted to our local hospital for 4 days before sent to billings for a week. They were able to get him stable, solidly gaining weight, and scheduled for surgery at the end of the month. We were discharged and able to take our boy home. We were home for about 10 days before he started to decline again. It started slow and sped up fast. After taking him to the Er we were admitted to the hospital due to him dropping back below birth weight and being over a month old. Since being here he has only continued to drop weight. His kidneys are still plugged causing swelling and a severe urinary tract infection. He has now been hooked up to a feeding tube. We are seeing what his next steps are weather they decide Denver, Portland, or Spokane. We have a long ways to go with him and would appreciate any donations to help with expenses for travel and lodging during his trips along with expenses for medical supplies. If you cannot donate that's ok if you could send a prayer we would greatly appreciate that too! Thank you to those who have donated and prayed!

Savanna, I think about you and Jax every day. You are in my prayers every waking moment. Its been really crazy around here that is why I haven't been in contact. Just wanted to let you know I'm still here if you ever want or need anything. Hang in there, it will be over and both of you will be home soon. Take care. D

UPDATE: As you all know Jax was born on valentines day this year he is are happy beautiful baby boy that we are so very blessed to have! Unfortunately we have hit a bump in the road! Jax and I are currently on our way to Billings Montana to see a specialist to better help the problems he has been facing! On Monday jax began acting very fatigued and refusing to eat. The little bit I got into him he projectile vomited back up! After 24 hrs of refusing to eat he began not waking up at all. We rushed him to the emergency room where he still was refusing to wake up. The doctor immediately wanted to admit him, she did not believe he was going to survive through the night! After being admitted we had a great team of nurses and doctors who were able to stabilize him. Although he still refused to eat or even wake up! By the next day we were able to wake him and eased little tiny amounts of food into him hourly. He handled it well although still barely stayed awake. After two long days and nights of testing and ultrasounds and X-rays they were able to discover he had swollen kidneys caused by skin blocking the arteries to the bladder resulting in urine being pushed back into the kidneys. When that happens it causes an infection known as septic. Jax being such a tiny baby and only 2 weeks old, his body and immune system is not strong enough to fight an infection like that, which could cause even more serious damage such as shutting down his whole system. Thankfully our doctor in lewistown made the right call and decided to have us shipped to billings to be evaluated further by a specialist as they believe there may be more serious issues with jax that they are not able to test for being so limited with their resources! Depending on what billings decides we may have to go to a bigger hospital in Denver that can better help with these problems.. We hope and pray they are able to figure out what all has been causing this and help him get through it and get better. We appreciate everyone's kind words and prayers and love! Myself or his auntie will be updating everyone so you all can know what is happening... Thank you Love Always,          The Johnstons
