Shelia was picked up by AC as a stray friendly dog. Friendly is an understatment for this gorgeous girl. She gives the best kisses! She walks well on a leash all around good dog. She does have a cut near her eye(we have no clue what happened) Shelia's hold is up on 7/17/19 and she can be killed by shelter staff after that date.

The shelter has started the heartworm positive dogs on ivermectin to help start them on the slow kill method of heartworm treatment. Ivermectin alone does not cure heartworm and does not kill the adult heartworm. Adult heartworm will continue to damage a dog’s organs. Thorough heartworm treatment to cure a dog of the disease consists of diagnostics and a two prong approach to treatment for both the adult or immature heartworm. Veterinary care and supervision is key.
