Griffin-Ford house fire
Donation protected
On January 12, 2017, my dear friends Melissa and Ellis lost their home and pets in a house fire. The home, located in rural Audrain County, was a family home that Melissa cherished not only for its sentimental value but also its location and space that well-suited her passion for rescuing and fostering abandoned and unwanted animals. She dedicated so much of her time, effort, and money to rescuing discarded and neglected animals. She and Ellis were caring for many foster dogs and cats at the time of the fire and unfortunately most did not survive. Melissa obtained some minor injuries as a result of her efforts to rescue her beloved animals.
While no monetary value can be placed on the lives of these beloved pets and the sentimental items lost, any donations to this fund could provide assistance in rebuilding their lives, paying for medical costs, and also to assist in cremation fees for the animals that perished.
As a close friend to Melissa, I wish to do anything possible to help her and Ellis during this extremely traumatic and stressful time. I personally wish to thank everyone who has already done so much to help this young couple and thank-you in advance to those of you who choose to donate.
