Gregg's Cancer Care

Donation protected
Gregg was diagnosed with cancer on December 22, 2017 with stage 4 lung cancer.  The doctor gave him three months to live.  Gregg, in his true fighting spirit, beat all odds and baffled his doctors and continued treatments until last week.  He went into the cancer center feeling dehydrated and tired.  A CAT scan  revealed that the cancer had spread into the lymph nodes surrounding his heart.  The doctors have advised to stop his chemo and to call in hospice.  They have given him three months.

Gregg married his long time love, Lori,  in 1981.  They raised their two children Gregg Jr. and Alissa in NYC.  Gregg was a Fire Safety Director in mid-town Manhattan for 20 years.  They lived there during 9/11 which impacted them and their friends & family.  Gregg & Lori moved to SC after he retired as a Fire Safety Director.  They loved the Greenville area and found their forever home in Simpsonville in March of 2008.  Gregg  wanted to continue his work and found a career with American Security working security for Greenville Hospital.  He was forced to leave the job he loved after his diagnosis due to the job duties and being in a hospital that would put him at risk of more infection.  Lori has continued to work for Bon Secours as an account specialist.  She works with a very supportive team and was able to work from home a few days a week.  However, with the ongoing treatments that Gregg has required over the last 22 months, she has had to miss many days of work.   After losing one source of income and another being severely depleted, the bills have been mounting.   Unfortunately, Gregg doesn't have any life insurance to assist with after life expenses.  Those expenses in addition to their current bills are overwhelming.  We are asking for support to ease their financial burden so they can enjoy their remaining time together.

Please consider donating to Gregg and Lori.  They are neighbors who have become friends.  They have always been known to extend a helping hand to anyone in need without hesitation.  They are a truly inspiring couple who haven't complained over their circumstances. Gregg and Lori have always put others needs before their own.  We want to take one less burden off their plate.  Any amount will help- please consider sharing this fund.  Thank you!
