Help => Green Meshref

Green Meshref turned into black after 2 days of huge forest fires that have ripped through the Shouf mountains in the center of the country Lebanon.

More than 100 firefighters were working to battle the massive fire. They managed to earlier control the forest fire, but strong winds and high temperatures rekindled the blaze. Thanks to teamwork, solidarity and perseverance of Meshref citizens, they managed to keep fire under control and out of their houses.

Those were stressful days to watch this dangerous situation, miles away from home, without being able to act and help family and friends. This was also heartbreaking to see my beautiful hometown, the green Meshref, turning into black.

My name is Manar AOUN and I was born in Meshref. I am a lebanese and french citizen living in Italy, nature lover and working in health and pharmaceutical research fields.
I launch this fundraising campaign to provide help to my hometown Meshref, offering trees to reforest the village, thus increasing green surfaces after this huge disaster in order to minimise the impact of global warming, reduce the pollution and consequently its impact on public health.

Together with my cousins living in Meshref, mainly Valentina and Beatrice Aoun, we will use the raised money to buy trees in Lebanon and to plant them in  Meshref during spring, in april 2020. All steps will be documented by photos and shared with all donors.
