Hi my family and I are hoping to raise some money for our little brother. Grant is 26 and was like every normal young lad who loved sports, keeping fit, eating well and loved his job. One day he woke up with severe stomach pains and after months of tests was diagnosed with colitis.
Colitis is a serious inflammatory bowel disease that affects his intestines causing ulcers that erupt and cause him to pass blood on a daily basis (along with many more problems) He is often admitted into hospital as he needs blood transfusions almost weekly and has severe cramps and weight loss. He can hardly make it downstairs some days. His life has changed so much he can no longer run or walk his dogs. He desperately needs a life changing operation which will massively improve his life and almost cure him. However. He is faced with a problem.
The government have refused to help him with any kind of sickness allowance so he has to work. But, Like today he collapsed at work and had to be rushed to hospital again! He is trying to save up enough money to see him through after his operation as he will need 3 months off work and is not entitled to any sick pay. The government by then may recognise that he needs their help but by the time his claim goes through (12 weeks) him and his girlfriend will have starved to death!! He has worked out he could save up and have the op in Feb next year. This is not an option he needs it now as the tablets he is taking instead of the operation are affecting his heart.
So my friends and I are running 10k to try and raise abit or money to help him to have his operation sooner ❤️ If anyone would like to sponsor us please do
