Granger Family - Medical Fund

On August 31st Shelly was playing tennis and her achilles tendon unexpectedly ruptured.  She had surgery about 10 days later to repair the injury.  Shortly afterwards she began to experience complications with the healing of the surgical incision and now needs to undergo a second surgery to repair the wound and remove infected tissue.  This injury has been very debilitating because it limits her ability to walk and be on her feet and also causes considerable pain. She has had to take a lot of time off of work over the last several months, first for the initial healing and then the subsequent complications. She had originally expected to be back working full time by November. Now Shelly is faced with a second surgery on February 25th and will have her foot in a cast for another 6-8 weeks, again affecting her ability to work. Two surgeries to pay for, in addition to her limited ability to work (her employment does not offer disability), has put a severe strain on the family finances.  While Shelly does have health insurance, the amount not covered for the two surgeries and follow up physical therapy and wound care will be about $8,000. Having these medical expenses covered would be a huge relief to her and the kids and they would be grateful for anything anyone is willing to contribute to help them out of this tough place.  Any amount beyond this would help the Grangers with basic living expenses while Shelly is recovering and unable to work full time for the next two months.         

Shelly lives in Ashland Oregon with her three kids, Liam, Meredith and Reed. Moving back to her home town in 2013 and raising her three kids here has been a dream come true. When she is not supporting, transporting or cheering on her children in their various activities, she volunteers time teaching art in the local public schools (Helman and Willow Wind). She also coaches Ashland middle and high school music students, judges local music contests, and teaches flute lessons at her home. Her full-time job in Real Estate allows her the chance to help make other families "Oregon living" dreams come true.
