"A house needs a grandma in it." – Louisa May Alcott
Initially, her condition seemed to be related to arthritic pains, worsened after a fall where she hurt her knee. Unfortunately, her condition progressed to the point that she was unable to stand/walk/sit up/lie down without a considerable amount of pain or assistance. We decided to admit her to the hospital when we started to notice some neurological deficits. This was out of the ordinary as my grandmother has always had a sharp mind (a result from having to raise both her children and many, many grandchildren). The doctor suspected that these deficits may be stroke-like in nature and had her undergo a CT scan. The results revealed hydrocephalus from a brain tumor which is causing intracranial pressure. The neurologist suggested surgery, inserting a shunt to decrease the pressure.
Unfortunately, we are not financially secure at the moment and would appreciate any help. As of now, her condition seems to be deteriorating and we are under pressure to make a decision soon. She is currently receiving treatment in the Philippines and we're hoping to raise at least $6000 to cover her medical bills. Any type of amount is highly appreciated (even as little as $1-$5) and would help tremendously!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. If you could help spread this post around as well, my family and I would be eternally grateful.
