In Loving Memory of Grandma Layman

Donation protected
Grandma Layman, or Ann as she was also known was a wonderful and beautiful soul who touched anyone who met her no matter how brief.  Her struggle began in December of 2015 with the discovery of non-hodgkins lymphoma, a recurrance of the disease as Ann had beat it many years earlier in Stage 4 but had happily been in remission for almost a decade.
Although 71, she decided to undergo chemotherapy again. Initially the oncologists were filled with hope that the recurrance which was caught very early would be easily treatable and she would yet again, go into a full remission.
That was the hopes and prayers of her family, but sometimes God's plans are not your plans and sometimes the answer to your prayers are not always immediately understood.
Despite the wonderful care and efforts of the doctors and nurses at UVMC, her body was frail and failling - on the morning of April 12th 2016, her daughter and granddaughter were told that her health had severely declined over the past few days and after consulting with the oncologist there was nothing more to be done, and that to bring her best comfort possible would be to move her to the Hospice wing so that she could pass with the peace and dignity she deserved surrounded by loved ones.
We know that she did so many wonderful things on earth that God decided to call her Home to rest and rejoice. She entered into rest peacefully with the help of Hospice of Miami Valley with her daughter and granddaughter by her side on April 12th, 2016.
Ann was widowed in 2012 after she lost her loving husband Jim. She leaves behind an only daughter, and granddaughter whom she raised (pictured above), 4 sisters (one of whom proceeded her in death) and 1 brother, and many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Annie.
Due to difficult personal circumstances, she was not covered under life insurance and with living on limited social security did not have much. So, her grieving family is left with the financial burdens and pressure of honor her last wishes. She was such a loving and giving woman, and all we want to do is give back to this special lady.

The hope of this gofundme is that we can give her the proper burial that she, the good woman she was, deserves. She did not wish to be cremated, rather have a place so that her loved ones may visit more often.

The color of her page is yellow, like sunshine because that is the song she sang most often to cheer someone up when they were discomforted or under the weather.

She'll always be our little piece of sunshine.
