Grandin Court Elem. Dodgeball Team

Donation protected
Roanoke City Public Schools currently have 250 students identified as homeless. The teachers and students of Roanoke City Public Schools will come together on November 17, 2018 and compete in a city-wide dodgeball tournament. All of the proceeds will benefit the Help the Homeless Fund.

Our Help the Homeless Fund is preventing families from becoming homeless. To date, the school system has spent $22,000 helping 145 families (307 students). The fund pays for things like an utility bill or rent to prevent evictions. The funding is being used to fill the gaps after all other community resources have been exhausted.

Homelessness can take on different forms. Some of our students live in shelters. Others live in hotels or are doubling up with our families. Put another way, these students don't have a permanent residence.

Teacher and student teams will compete to raise the most money to help our students in need. Please donate today and make a difference for our students!
