Grand Forks Flood 2018

The snow level was 200 percent above normal. I tried to prepare for any flooding by increasing the number of sump pumps I used. I had 5 pumps working 24/7 and thought I was getting somewhere. Boy was I wrong! On May 10th at about 4 am I thought it was raining. However it was in fact the Granby River running down my driveway. I got my wife and dog (Yogi) to safety and pulled my cars out of yard, I tried with many insurance companies but could not get flood insurance. The Province of BC's Emergency Disaster Fund is looking after our claim. To rebuild on the same lot I have to raise the property to 200 year flood level, which for us is about 100 truck loads of fill,  I need a safe place to live and our house is red tagged so our options are limited.
