Gracie's Lymphoma

Donation protected

Hello everyone,

I hate to do even do one of these, but I feel I have to after calculating all the expenses that are soon to come to our plate. I was previously a registered veterinary technician but I've gone back to school full-time to further my education with animals. I have tax returns coming which are going to help with a major part of this whole thing and some financial aid from school. I paid $400 dollars last week, but there is still more to come.

When I first met Gracie, she was 3 years old. I was working as a manager at a dog kennel. She gave birth to 6 beautiful puppies. I shortly adopted her after and spayed her ASAP. She has been healthy her whole life, clean bill of health, perfect blood work, maybe a little chunky ;) but overall healthy. We have spent our days hiking, going to play disc golf, spending days at the river, and her favorite, sunbathing. She is my best friend and like a daughter to me. She's not only a friend to me, but a friend to many others, humans and pets alike.

She is now nearing 10 years old and we've received a SCARY diagnosis, lymphoma. However, after talking with my veterinarian, lymphoma can be put into remission with chemotherapy. Luckily, I caught it very early and she's showing no symptoms. We've had chest x-rays, bloodwork all done and she is healthy in those aspects. I want to do everything that is best for my girl and make her last days as comfortable as possible.

We want to start the treatments as soon as possible.

How the money will be used:

-Transportation - Gracie's vet is 1 hour away and we will have 2 visits per week.
-Vet visits- CBC blood draws weekly, IV drug injections, oral medicine. We will be doing the CPV protocal - cyclophosamide, vincristine, and prednisone. A bottle of cyclophosamide itself cost $800 dollars alone at-cost to my veterinarian.  If we have to put catheters in because her legs are notorious basset legs, it's only going to be more. If she needs anti-nausea meds/pain meds/anti-diarrhea etc it will be more as sometimes these side effects come with chemo.
-Supplements - Immune health supplements($22 for month supply) and CBD oil($65 for 2 month supply)
-Diet - We are going to try to starve the cancer with less carbs, more fat/protein. Adding in some home-cooking.

Thank you all taking the time to read,

Please think of us during this hard time,

Love,

Gracie and Kim
