GOT WORMS?!
Environmental Literacy with Worm Composting!
Help us raise $300 for our comprehensive worm composting curriculum, bins and starter worms!

We are excited to announce that Yosemite Wawona Elementary Charter School has started composting this semester!
We are composting indoors and would love to start incorporating worms for more efficient composting. Our students and teachers have started composting remnants from our snacks and lunches on a daily basis & we are ready to incorporate worms and a worm tower!
Because we are located within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park, we have to be very careful with trash and food waste so as not to attract nearby wild animals. We would like to continue composting indoors and then transfer nutrient-dense compost from our worm tower into both our outdoor school garden and indoor planters.
The worms and worm tower will help our school compost more efficiently and keep the smells and local critters at bay.
The comprehensive compost curriculum will help further our commitment to incorporate Environmental Literacy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math education) into our daily curriculum. Additionally, this will help us move forward in becoming a more sustainable school! :)
