After a battle with Breast Cancer and a Double Mastectomy, our aunt Gonul Basaran was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. This type of blood disorder is ultimately curable with stem cell transplant. Upon diagnosis, chemotherapy was initiated and for 6 months now has gotten more aggressive. She is currently hospitalized due to the side effects of treatment and unable to take care of her kids.
This news has been devastating to our whole family. We need your prayers and help. We need Oktay and Gonul to focus on Her treatment and recovery without worrying about anything else. Oktay will need to take time from his job so that he can be present for Gonul in her treatment as well as their two little girls.
