Going to Nepal Y'all!

Hey Y'all! I have been blessed with the opportunity and obligation to go to Nepal. As some of you may know I have been involved with Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) for over 7 years now. AVP is an association of community, school and prison-based groups offering experiential workshops in personal growth, community development, and creative conflict management. I facilitate conflict resolution training workshops in 2 South Florida prisons 10-12 weekends per year. I am the Coordinator for AVP Miami and in May of this year, I became the National Vice President of AVP USA! This November, AVP International is hosting our biannual World Gathering in Nepal.  At the International Gathering, we have workshops, meetings and discuss AVP programs from around the world. It is a great opportunity for me to connect with people who conduct AVP in 45 countries, including such regions of conflict as Sudan, Palestine, Burundi and Rwanda. As Vice-President, I am being supported by the AVP USA Board, which has covered my plane ticket and most of my room & board (conference fees).  As the departure date of November 1st draws closer I realize I need more funds for this trip and the little things are adding up! So I am coming to y'all to ask for your support. Contributions in any amount are welcome and know that your donation is going towards helping support my development as a facilitator to help people live nonviolent lives.

I leave November 1st  so I need your contributions as soon as possible.  This will be my first international trip and I am traveling alone. The travel is 30+ hours each way. With all of the things I need to consider before I take off on this journey, it would be great to know I had enough funds to cover this once in a lifetime experience. Peace & Best wishes!
