Diego "Gogo" Orona age 12 has a heart of gold but his passion for baseball is on a whole different level. Started out like most boys playing T ball at the age of 5 & hasn't put his baseball gear down other than to attend school or church. He is now on Mystery 12U Majors Select Travel Team from Odessa Texas. 4/7/19 was no different than any other day in a tournament weekend other than one thing.... he was hit in the back of head by a pitched ball & resulted with a fractured scull. He was taken by ambulance to Midland Memorial where he then was air lifted to Lubbock Covenant Children's Hospital. Surgery was to relieve pressure on his brain & restructure his skull. Surgery was very successful & a metal plate was inserted. His vital signs are just as amazing as he is. Gogo has always entered & exited the fields with a smile until yesterdays tragic incident. We do not know when he will reach full recovery nor do we know how long he will be in the hospital but what we do know is that mom & dad can not & will not leave his side & that his medical bills are quickly accumulating. The entire baseball  community from Midland/Odessa & all surrounding areas have contacted family & Tommy Hawkins wanting to help in any way possible & this is the quickest & most effective way to do so.
