My name is Gabriel Neron and I am 19 years old. I moved British Columbia four years ago form Quebec. Started biking at 2 years old, I loved it so much that I was ready for challenges. I loved the speed and go as fast as I can down hills. In Quebec I didn't have Bike Parks so I focused on downhill skiing and dirt biking which both related to speed and going down hills. After getting my level 3 CSIA ( Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance) at 16 years old and spending about 10 years of riding motorcycle I finally decided to follow my first dream; to be a DH bike rider. Having moved near Kamloops BC, I knew it was the best place to develop myself in the downhill bike world. Bought a used bike for my first season of biking in Sun Peaks. Worked in a bike shop as a full time bike mechanic and spent two years of building my experience on a bike and the racing side of things, I decided to commit and race the entire BC cup series.
Summer 2019 I went to all BC Cup and Canadian Cup races. My top result was in Silveerstar for a Canadian cup where I got 3rd place. My best BC Cup result was winning the race at Sun Peaks.
After a phenomenal season with finishing 2nd in BC Standings and winning Rookie Of The Year and being recruted by the Dunbar Race Team, I am more then ready to Tackle some new challenges.
My end goal of racing World Cups is getting closer! In summer 2020, I want to race a couple of rounds of WC. Last year was expensive, I know for a fact that racing world cups are not cheap as I need to go to Europe... more fees.
