After years of caring for others, she needs to be taken care of.
My loving wife cared for a special needs uncle for over 20 years.
Since then, she began a career in Special Education, and she thrived.
That career was cut short when it became necessary for us to take custody of a severely autistic grand-daughter.
We have had her for more than 9 years.
After a time, our daughter divorced and it was necessary for she and her OTHER autistic (yes, 2 of them)daughter to come live with us.
Through it all, Kim has been a rock, caring for all of us.
But now ,her condition has worsened and she herself, needs to be taken care of.
She will need constant attention while she undergoes chemotherapy, which will inevitably lead to a bone marrow transplant.
This treatment will require we relocate to be closer to the treatment centers.
We are simply not in a financial situation to handle this, especially since I will have to be with her for her extended treatments.
This funding will help put us in a more doable situation, where I can find work, and she can be close to her treatment, and we can prepare for the lengthy and expensive treatments. which are already taking their physical, and emotional, and financial toll.
