Go Save Athena

Hi, my name is Tony. I'm a full time college student for a horsemanship program and I'm slowly starting a horse rescue that helps veterans with PTSD.
The picture I uploaded? That's my best friend, Kara. She's another horsemanship student that has been a little down on her luck. The horse in the picture? That's Athena. She's the horse that Kara had to sell a few months back because she couldn't make ends meet.

Athena was recently put up for sale again by the girl Kara sold her to. With all the same pictures Kara had used in her own ads. And with some pretty grandoise information, false information. Athena was abused when she was young and she has some pretty big trust issues that both Kara and I had been working hard on. The girl Kara sold her to promised and provided information about how she was able to deal with those issues and that Athena would never end up in slaughter. Well, I talked to her as soon as I saw Athena up for sale again. The girl hasn't worked with her, she calls her dangerous, and she even very angrily said "I could just take that mare out and shoot her in the head".

Well we aren't going to let that happen. Kara and I need to raise money to go get Athena and buy her hair. I recenly just moved so I don't have all the money I would like to get enough hay and supplements for an underweight horse --- because the girl Athena went to also hasn't been feeding her nearly enough for a Montana winter. A very long, very cold Montana winter. When we had Athena she was fat and happy, well the pictures we've recieved recently don't show that pretty, spunky mare anymore.

We, unfortuneately, need most of the funds by the end of this week. We need to go get Athena before the weather turns worse again and we need to get at least one round bale of hay to put in front of her.

Please, we're not going to let her suffer anymore. Kara got a job, I bought a property with room for horses (so I get to watch her 24/7), and we're fully prepared to get her healthy. But we need some help.
