Little Elm Head Basketball Coach, Rusty Segler was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer in the middle of basketball season last year. He has been a champion in attempting to balance his family, coaching, and treatments while still making an impact in the Little Elm High School boys basketball program. His treatments and disease at times through the process has created many lost work days and of course many medical bills. This season he had to miss a few weeks of basketball and that was a journey that has never happened before in his 38 year career. Coach Segler is currently undergoing a phase of treatment and hospitalization that we are all holding on to faith will defeat the cancer. Coach Segler spent his 38 year career as a basketball coach at Round Rock HS, Aransas Pass HS, Liberty Hill HS, Concordia Lutheran University, A&M Consolidated and has been at Little Elm HS for eight years. He has been to the playoffs every place he has coached and has been involved as Texas Association of Basketball Coaches board member and a National Association of Basketball Coaches member for 30 years. He picked up his 600th career win last season and was awarded the Triple E Award for Excellence by our Superintendent. He is married to his wife Debbie and has two adult sons who are both collegiate coaches and four grandchildren.
Coach Segler is a faithful, family man with a motto of "All for One and One for All" and now we all need to be "All for One and One for All" for him and his family to help assist with the financial burden that comes with this disease. In Little Elm we are Lobos and need to #ProtectThe Pack of one of our family members.
All proceeds will go directly to Coach Segler and his family.
