Matt Young, graduate of Delavan Darien was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer earlier this year. Despite chemo, he has had to have 4 surgeries in the past 14 days and it appears the cancer has returned. After some internal reconstructing we are hopeful the "Terminator" will be able to start a new chemo in a couple weeks and slow the progression. Unfortuntely, Matt will not be retuning to work anytime soon.
His wife Nancy has also had bladder cancer that reoccurred earlier this year requiring multiple treatments. We are hopeful she is also on the way to recovery. But her health has also had an impact on her job and of course more medical expenses
These 2 people are the first people to take care of everyone else around them. They would never ask for help even if it was necessary. I am hoping to ease their minds and financial burden by raising some money so the two of them can focus on recovery, and each other. We are planning a community fundraiser in the near future but since the Covid is of concern, we thought this may be a better option for some.
