Who are we?
GlobeMed at the University of Denver is one of 58 GlobeMed chapters across the country. Each university chapter is partnered with a grassroots health organization and works one-on-one with them on community health projects. The Denver chapter is partnered with BSDA (Buddhism for Social Development Action) an organization in Cambodia that was started by Buddhist monks. Every summer, a small group of members travels to Cambodia to work hand-in-hand with our partners. We are currently working with them on two micro-finance projects that aim to provide a source of sustainable income for people living with HIV/AIDS. One project is called "Financing Futures", which allows our beneficiaries to be free to start any small business that they see fit in their community. The loan further allows the children of these families to attend school, instead of staying home to work. In addition to fundraising, GlobeMed has a strong focus on creating awareness for global health equality.

We are hosting a Gatsby Themed Banquet on May 24th at 6:30 the University of Denver's campus in order to raise end-of-the-year funds to send to our partners in Cambodia.
