SAS Fan Dance Challenge!

The Fan Dance Race Challenge!

*Date changed to 19th July from original participating date of the 18th*

It is an authentic & original challenge, as used by the SAS through a gruelling non-navigational 24km over two sides of Pen Y Fan (The highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, UK). I will not only be doing this; but I shall be carrying 25lbs of weight with me across the route as I take on the Load Bearing category.

This infamous route has long been a part of SAS (Special Air Service) and SBS (Special Boat Service) Selection and is considered the yardstick of a candidate's potential to perform well on Test Week and ultimately pass the Special Forces Selection programme.

This is an extreme challenge that I have taken on this year. Last year many may remember I did the Paris Marathon with absolutely no training; while tears were plentiful I did finish it (even if I was last for those who remember!). We raised $4000 last year and were able to assist many with emergency medical aid into Syria.

You can learn more about The Fan Dance Race on www.thefandancerace.com  and you can learn more about Globally United on www.truthpeacelove.org where you can also make a donation if you prefer.

As I take on another challenge basically trying to give myself as much pain with tears as possible to raise some money for these two crisis that I care dearly about & know so many do also, I hope you can please get on board and donate what you can. I assure you if nothing else that it will be a really good show come July featuring every emotion you can think off as I go through a lot of gruelling pain trying to complete this one!

I am choosing to do this carrying 25lbs for the challenge as a small symbolism of the Syrian refugees who struggle carrying what belongings they can to get to safety. It has no comparison to what these families go through but it is as small a symbolism as I can think off for this challenge.

Orginally we planned to fundraising for a new school, however that has been met by a private funder to set this up. So, I am fundraising now for emergency aid for the crisis in Syria & the suffering within the Rohingya crisis. Anything raised will be split in half and money used half and half for each cause. All funds go directly to Globally United which operates on a 100% volunteer basis so every penny is used towards the cause.

We can help so many people with medical aid, clothing, hygiene packs, food, support and whatever else we can do for those who are worst hit in need of emergency help. We will also assist any children in families into education, PTSD support and any other guidance we may be able to provide through our long term projects.

I continue to work on the ground in the country and am frequently in border regions. I am fully aware of the crisis facing the people and what is needed most.

Thank you for your continued support, and please come down and say hello even if you are not taking on the challenge, those of us who are doing it will need all the support we can get; or at least I will I should say!

While I am here and feeling ready for challenges I am happy to take on pretty much any challenge you want to throw my way, not limited to it being for Globally United for any organisation that is a small NGO assisting humanity.

Let's do this together, let's raise as much as we can to help as many people as we can, let's work together for humanity!
