Our Kwinana Junior football team coach Glenn Riseley has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma stage 4 at time of diagnosis and is now been struggling with this disease for 6 months enduring cancer treatment and chemo. He still shows up at our games but has to watch away from our team so we can't get him sick during his chemo and blood levels.
He is 42 years old and a wonderful caring family man and Kwinana community member. He has been our coach for 4 years and is always the first person to help anyone and be there for everyone in our community.
At 42 no man deserves this news and it’s been a huge shock. You work hard and never expect this news. He turned to his insurance thinking it would be there and it is at a low rate of $1100 a month.
His family obligations are more then this and he is at risk of losing his family home and his bills are growing. He cant get work due to cancer and yet centrelink say he isn’t disabled enough and the family are really struggling. This could happen to anyone.
We his team parents are trying to fundraise and raise as much as we can for Glenns family. We can’t cure his cancer but we can try ease his financial pressures so him and his wife Amanda can concentrate on his fight. Glenn and his young family don’t deserve to be homeless and lose everything he worked for. He is a wonderful hard working Australian who deserves to be helped. We are aware the kjfc is organising a fundraising coaching clinic in July and are behind Glenn and Amanda 100 percent. However things are very serious financially now and thats why we have organised this. Bills have been getting bigger daily and they are in severe hardship NOW URGENT HELP IS NEEDED
