Glamour Girl Regional Tour

Quill and Inkling is a company that was set up to provide exciting theatrical experiences. Beth Miller and Ivan Wilkinson are the founder members.

About us

-Ivan Wilkinson is an actor with 12 years of professional touring experience. He is highly skilled at stage combat and is a published playwright, his adaptation of "Kidnapped" toured successfully in 2014.

-Beth Miller has been instrumental in organising and stage managing tours abroad, primarily in Italy, in recent years. Her experiences range from children's theatre to Shakespeare. Her artistic skills have been utilised in the making of masks and props in recent projects.

Over the Summer we successfully completed a ‘myths & legends’ project in collaboration with English Heritage at Warkworth Castle, which incorporated mask and movement work and was well received by young and old alike.

We are keen on expanding our reach and believe the next stage for 'Glamour Girl' is a regional tour of our production. We currently have agreements in place with a number of theatres across the South East, which we are extremely excited about.

As a company we hope to continue the standard we established upon the companies inception. It is important for us that we offer creatives a good company to work with and a company that treats them fairly. We believe that any creative who contributes to our company, on stage or behind the scenes, deserves to be paid for their work, so we will be paying all actors from our own pockets, and funds raised here will go towards the other production costs.

Your generosity will also cover amongst other things:
-Venue Costs & transportation
-Costume & set
-Flyers & posters

The Show
We are very excited to portray the true story of ‘Cora Pearl,’ a provocative and scandalous character who escaped dull 1850s London for Gay Paris, becoming the most celebrated and influential courtesan of the second French Empire.

Set during the 1850s and 1860s this drama explores her rise to fame and the rather modern challenges she faced. From gossip and outrage in the press to riots in the streets and moralistic politicians, Cora’s quick wit, ingenuity (and some other talents), made her the epitome of glamour.

Praise for Glamour Girl

'Glamour Girl was as witty, charming, jaw-dropping, and surprisingly full of heart as Cora Pearl herself'
'Ivan Wilkinson's fast paced, inventive, and witty script sparkled'
'a bravura performance by Katy Helps'
'unforgettable'

We would love the opportunity to tell Cora's incredible story on this scale and with your help, you can bring this exciting theatrical tale to life.
