Sparkle the kitten's 2nd chance!

A very kind woman named Kelly pulled Sparkle (Gehris), a VERY sick kitten, from imminent euthanasia at Philadelphia Animal Control with only minutes before her deadline. There was no time to debate her chances of survival- it was pull her or let her be put to sleep so Kelly made the choice to give Sparkle a chance at life.
Unfortunately Sparkle's 1st brush with death at Philly ACCT was quickly followed by her 2nd brush with death when her health was so precarious that Kelly's own vet told her that Sparkle was not going to survive. She was so sick that she had not been interested in consuming food or water on her own for approximatly a week. When she arrived at the vet, she was so congested that she could not even be force fed without risk of aspiration. She was very dehydrated and emaciated, weighing only 3lbs which was about 1/2 her ideal weight.
Even this sick, Sparkle was very affectionate and wanted to live. The Cat Shack was able to partner with Kelly and get Sparkle admitted to Perkiomen Animal Hospital where she received intensive care for 1 week. The vets were not optomistic at first, but after 5 days of constant care, Sparkle started to turn the corner and eat on her own. Today, 10 days after she was admitted to Perkiomen Animal Hospital, she is home and steadily climbing back to health.
Sparkle's bill at Perkiomen Animal Hospital was a whopping $1600, but the vet hospital owner was VERY kind to Sparkle and the Cat Shack and agreed to reduce this bill to $1000. We are so thankful that Sparkle survived and that our wonderful vets were able to offer us this discount.
Please help the Cat Shack to cover this vet bill (We will be attaching a scan of the actual bill shortly) so that we can continue to help cats like Sparkle to have a chance at life.
