Gizmo's "Tripawed" Surgery

Donation protected
After years of toying with the idea of adopting a senior cat, I finally decided I was more than ready for my first pet - and when I met 10-year-old Gizmo, it was all over. She came home with me immediately to enjoy her golden years. It didn't take long for her to fit right in, politely helping with chores and snuggling up to watch HGTV, with the loudest, happiest purr I've ever heard. Fast forward two months and a little lump on her perfect kitty ankle has grown, swollen, and is cutting off circulation to her paw. After three vet visits, extensive lab work and x-rays ($1369), multiple vets have told me that Gizmo's best chance is amputation (estimate $2420). I know this seems drastic and honestly, I hadn't really expected to be the type of pet parent who would opt for surgery, but I haven't had a chance to learn what type of pet parent I am yet - and she is so happy otherwise, I can't imagine Gizmo's story ending here. I have read about other cats adjusting well and she has been avoiding use of the leg anyway. We are pursuing the surgery as soon as possible, but it's already adding up. Any donations anyone is willing to spare for Gizmo are greatly appreciated by both of us and will go directly to her vet bills. Thank you!
